Who we are
Two Microsoft veterans who decided to do this independently.
Diablo Technology Services started because we kept having the same
conversation on the inside: mid-market teams are paying for cloud
and AI capacity they can't explain, and the consulting choices in
front of them are "giant firm with junior staff" or "small firm
with thin experience." We're a third option.

Wayne Smith
Co-founder · Fishers, IN
Wayne co-founded Diablo Technology Services after a career at Microsoft, where he worked as a Cloud Solutions Architect. He is the author of two titles on SQL Server administration and design (New Riders, 1997 and 1999) and holds an M.S. in Informatics from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis.
In December 2024 Wayne co-presented Microsoft's Azure Design Blueprint Series episode on Responsible AI in Azure, and has delivered AI workshops internationally — including at Morocco's 1337 coding campuses.

Robb Dilallo
Co-founder · St. Louis, MO
Robb co-founded Diablo Technology Services and brings over a decade of Microsoft experience as a Senior Technology Strategist. He currently serves as Manager of the Cloud Center of Excellence at Copeland alongside his work at Diablo.
In May 2025 Robb published Managing Azure OpenAI costs with the FinOps toolkit and FOCUS: turning tokens into unit economics on the Microsoft FinOps Blog — work that directly informs Diablo's approach to AI unit economics.

How we work
What to expect from an engagement
- Two of us, not a layered agency. The people you meet on the sales call are the people doing the work.
- Senior by default. We don't bring juniors to your engagement — our rates reflect that.
- Written end-states, not decks. Runbooks, dashboards, policies — things you can use after we leave.
- Honest about fit. If we're not the right team for your problem, we'll say so on the first call.
